Gil Bellows Reportedly Cast as Allie’s Dad in Off Campus Season 2

Another important character from The Score appears to be making his way to Off Campus Season 2.

Gil Bellows has reportedly joined the Prime Video series as Joe Hayes, the father of Allie Hayes, played by Mika Abdalla. Bellows was recently photographed filming scenes with Abdalla in Vancouver, where production on the second season is currently underway. Prime Video has not officially announced Bellows’ casting or confirmed his character, so the role remains unconfirmed by the streamer.

Season 2 will shift the primary romance to Allie and Dean Di Laurentis, played by Stephen Kalyn, continuing the relationship that began during Season 1. Prime Video has confirmed that the pair will lead the new season, which draws from Elle Kennedy’s third Off Campus novel, The Score.

Joe is an important part of Allie’s storyline in the book. A former college hockey player and retired Boston Bruins scout, he is living with multiple sclerosis, and his declining health weighs heavily on Allie as she thinks about her future, career and where she wants to live.

He also plays an important role in Allie’s relationship with Dean.

Joe is initially skeptical of Dean and questions whether the wealthy, carefree hockey player is someone Allie can depend on when life becomes difficult. His concerns force Dean to confront the assumptions people make about him and prove that there is more to him than his reputation.

That relationship becomes increasingly important as The Score progresses. Joe’s doubts about Dean ultimately give the story another way to show Dean becoming more serious about Allie and stepping up when she needs him most.

Bellows would join several new and expanded characters from the wider Off Campus universe in Season 2. Prime Video recently confirmed Shay Rudolph will guest star as Dean’s younger sister, Summer Di Laurentis, while India Fowler will play Grace Ivers and Phillipa Soo will appear as theater artist Scarlett.

Prime Video has not announced a release date for Off Campus Season 2.
